Construction process

+1 (239) 444-8567

Before construction starts you may see some colored paint or flags on the ground. These are markers that allow us to know where your existing utilities lie underground.

After this process is completed, we begin construction to add new conduit and fiber to your neighborhood. Our crews will need to dig to visualize where your existing lines are located since 811 gives us a location but not a depth.

This ensures that we do not interrupt any existing utilities ran to your home. Our construction crews will lay down tarps and remove the top layer of sod for replacement later.

All of the dirt from the hole is placed onto tarps to ensure you don’t have dirt or sand mixing back into your grass. Once installation of the conduit is complete, the original dirt from the ground is placed back into the hole and the sod is laid back on top to match up with your lawn, so you won’t even know we were there!

i5 Fiber: a public utility

We are a public utility serving fiber internet to the city of Bonita Springs. It is required that when we decide to “build out” a community and apply for permits, we build to every home in the community.

Once the construction has started on your road, the timeline is generally 60-90 days before we can activate fiber optic internet services in your home. Once you have selected a package on our signup page, we will have you on our list to be one of the first to get installed in your new area so that you don’t have to wait in line!

how long until it’s ready?

Once the construction has started on your road it is generally 60-90 days before we can activate your services. Once the construction phase is complete, we still need to pull fiber cable through the ducts and connect it back to our network. Once you have selected a package on our signup page, we will have you on our list to be one of the first called back to get installed in your new area so that you don’t have to wait in line!
